The Sound and Healing of an Inspirited DrumYou are invited to come with a specific request for healing, or to be receptive to the healing that the spirit world has to offer you. Participants will experience the sound and healing of an inspirited drum. An Illustration of a Drum Doctoring SessionPeople can join this gathering with a specific request for healing, or come open and receptive to what the spirits have to offer them. Participants are seated in a circle. A general introduction to shamanic concepts and approaches to health and healing is provided. A brief introduction is given regarding healing with an inspirited drum. There is an opportunity for questions. A rattle is used for non-verbal invocation of spirits to support the success of the work. I move around/amongst participants using my frame drum to respond to their requests for healing. This is followed by a five minute silent interval, and then an opportunity for sharing and questions (optional). The session ends with me rattling as we join in non-verbal acknowledgement of and gratitude for the help that has been given to us.
